It's nice to have Jess back at Origin

. She has been away for a few weeks unwell but she is pleased to be back at the farm.

The main reason for setting this up is to be a place where adults who have learning disabilities can come and learn skills for life and work. The project has been set up as a non profit social enterprise and has been supported by the Big Lottery Fund, Testway moneybox scheme and other kind donations. On our smallholding we have 50 hens, 2 small pigs, 2 Shetland sheep, 2 rabbits and our 2 little dogs Ebony & Mya. Apart from caring for the animals, collecting eggs to sell in our honesty shop, we make lots of crafts, some to take home and some to sell! In our cosy log cabin we sometimes do cooking, we have been known to make delicious lemon curd and depending on the time of year we make jams, chutneys and zingy nettle soup! This blog will hopefully give you a feel of the project and be a chance to share some of our knowledge and hopefully gain some advice along the way. We are forever learning, the challenges presented are forever a learning curve.
